After years of speculation, Rockstar Games has finally answered some of the biggest questions surrounding Grand Theft Auto VI. We now know that the Standard Edition will cost $79.99, while the Ultimate Edition will retail for $99.99. Pre-orders begin on June 25 ahead of the game's November 19 launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
But the biggest surprise may not be the price. Rockstar has also confirmed that physical copies of GTA 6 will not include a game disc. Instead, buyers will receive a download code that allows them to install the game digitally.
For a franchise that has helped define modern gaming for more than two decades, the announcement feels bigger than a simple packaging decision. It may be one of the clearest signs yet of where the video game industry is heading.
