Most people use AI tools to rewrite their CVs or draft cover letters.
Juwon Olagoke, though, built an AI system that finds hiring managers, gathers their contact information, writes personalised outreach emails, and sends them without ever opening LinkedIn.
"I honestly did not expect it to work this well," the Nigerian design engineer told Techloy.
Using the no-code platform Lovable, he combined Apollo's people-search database, Google Places and Firecrawl's web-scraping capabilities into a single dashboard that searches for founders, recruiters and companies based on job title or location. Once it finds a potential employer, the system drafts a personalised email that can be sent directly from the same interface.
Juwon's approach is far from how most people use AI during a job search. But it reflects a broader shift. As artificial intelligence becomes a bigger part of everyday work, job seekers are beginning to use it for far more than polishing résumés. Some are building entirely new ways to discover opportunities, while others are using it to make the traditional application process faster and more targeted.
To understand how that looks in practice, we spoke with two professionals who have included AI in their job searches in very different ways.
