📊 India's wearable market shipped 100M units in 2022, growing by 47% YoY
The Indian wearable market marked a strong year-over-year growth in 2022. The market grew 46.9% YoY as shipments reached 100 million units, according to recent data from the International Data Corporation (IDC).
Across the product categories, the Earwear category boasted a sizeable portion of overall wearables shipments in 2022, with a 68.7% shipment share having grown 28% YoY from the previous year.
The Smartwatch category (inclusive of basic and advanced) witnessed the strongest growth. Shipments were 30.7 million in 2022, a growth of 151.3% YoY from the 12.2 million units shipped in 2021.
Wristbands declined for another year with -73.2% YoY, with shipments dropping to half a million.
