Kinetic Games, the studio behind the global horror hit Phasmophobia, has officially unveiled the first lineup from its new publishing label, Kinetic Publishing.

During its inaugural showcase, the publisher revealed five original indie games scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5 across 2027 and 2028, ranging from psychological sci-fi horror and cozy life simulations to ambitious metroidvania adventures.

Established earlier this year, Kinetic Publishing aims to support independent developers with the kind of creative and production backing that Phasmophobia creator Daniel Knight wished he had when building his own breakout success. That approach has resulted in a diverse slate of five games, each offering its own distinctive creative vision.

Here’s a closer look at the titles Kinetic Publishing currently has in the works.

/1. Contact Protocol Brings High-Stakes Sci-Fi Decision-Making

Launching in Spring 2027, Contact Protocol is a tense sci-fi starship simulator where players work as an administrator aboard the spacecraft Pale Horse during its journey to Jupiter's largest moon.

Your role is deceptively simple: inspect incoming vessels, compare their transmissions with company records, and decide whether they're friend or foe. Every choice carries life-or-death consequences, as one wrong judgment could trigger a devastating attack or condemn innocent crews to die in the vacuum of space.

Rather than relying on action, Contact Protocol builds suspense through mounting cognitive pressure, forcing players to make increasingly difficult decisions while balancing brief moments of calm with an unsettling visual style.

/2. Crescent County Is Kiki's Delivery Service Meets Akira

One of the showcase's standout reveals was Crescent County, a beautifully illustrated witch-tech adventure arriving in Summer 2027.
