After months of changing production dates, Landman Season 3 is finally moving again.
Taylor Sheridan’s Paramount+ oil drama began filming on September 24 in Fort Worth, Texas, giving fans their first solid sign that the wait for the next chapter is coming to an end. James Jordan, who plays Dale Bradley, shared a photo from the set with the caption, “Up n runnin’ and back after it!”, confirming that cameras are rolling.
The series is expected to continue filming into early 2027, although Paramount+ has not announced a release date. The new season will bring back Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy Norris and introduce Michael Kelly as a prominent new figure in the oil industry.

Why Did Landman Season 3 Take So Long to Start?
Filming was initially expected to begin around May 2026, but that plan changed. Billy Bob Thornton later suggested production would begin towards the end of August, before Jordan confirmed in July that filming had been pushed again to September. He also said the shoot would continue through the first quarter of 2027.
No official reason has been given for the delays. The Independent reported that Sheridan has been managing several other television projects, while the series' co-creator Christian Wallace was still working on the scripts in August.
Jordan previously described the upcoming season as “10 crazy, wonderful, funny and wild episodes”, adding that the cast was ready to return to work. That wait is now over, with filming taking place around Fort Worth and other parts of North Texas, locations that have also been used for the earlier seasons.
