According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple’s most popular laptop, the MacBook Air, is becoming increasingly difficult to buy.
So, the next time you walk into an Apple Store looking for a MacBook Air, don’t be surprised if it’s out of stock.

Everything points to Apple struggling to keep the MacBook Air on retail shelves.
According to retail sources, shipments are “more constrained than they can ever recall.”
New orders for base models aren’t expected to ship until the end of August, while some combinations of screen size, colour, and memory won’t arrive until early September. For a laptop that was refreshed in March, delays of around a month are highly unusual.
To make matters worse, Apple has added a disclaimer to its back-to-school promotion stating that the “MacBook Air [is] subject to availability,” suggesting the shortages are significant.
