Microsoft has confirmed that it will no longer support Windows 7 and 8/8.1 devices, starting from January 10, 2023, and recommended upgrading to a more current, in-service, and supported Windows release.

The old operating systems Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 will no longer receive Microsoft security updates and software updates, following a lengthy warning period.

Back in January 2018, Windows 10 surpassed Windows 7 for the first time globally, reaching 42.78% worldwide internet usage compared to 41.86% for Windows 7, according to independent web analytics company, Statcounter.
