The iPhone 18 Pro went on sale in India this week, and some people decided sleep was optional.

People camped outside Apple Stores; the queues became meme material, and one buyer said he sold his gold to buy one for his wife. For a phone starting at $1,199, that's commitment in my books.

📱 I spent a day with iOS 27, and Liquid Glass is finally starting to make sense

After spending a day with iOS 27, I expected the usual collection of tiny Apple tweaks. But to my surprise, Liquid Glass feels... better. The new translucency slider is genuinely useful, the Camera app is more customisable, and even the tiny animations make my phone feel a little nicer to use.

But some of the transparency still feels like a lot, and Apple wouldn't let me use Siri AI (yet). So, is iOS 27 a big upgrade, or just Apple cleaning up last year's mess?

📺 The Emmys had a very good night for Widow’s Bay

Widow’s Bay basically cleaned up at this year’s Emmys, taking home 14 awards and breaking the record The Studio set last year. The Pitt won Outstanding Drama Series for the second year in a row, while Matthew Rhys had perhaps the strangest achievement of the night: two lead-acting wins in two different categories. And yes, there was also a Dolly Parton tribute.
