The 78th Emmy Awards have wrapped up after three nights of celebrating the best television had to offer during the 2025–2026 season. The final ceremony took place on September 14 at the Peacock Theatre at L.A. LIVE in downtown Los Angeles, with Mariska Hargitay hosting the NBC and Peacock broadcast.
Across September 5, 6 and 14, the Television Academy handed out awards across creative, technical and major performance categories. Apple TV’s Widow’s Bay emerged as the biggest overall winner with 14 Emmys, while HBO Max’s The Pitt won Outstanding Drama Series and DTF St. Louis took Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series.

Widow’s Bay dominated the comedy categories, winning Outstanding Comedy Series alongside acting awards for Matthew Rhys, Kate O’Flynn and Stephen Root. Its six wins on the final night took its total to 14, breaking the previous record of 13 set by The Studio last year.
The Pitt claimed Outstanding Drama Series for a second consecutive year. Noah Wyle also won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, repeating his victory from the previous season. According to the Television Academy, The Pitt became the first series since Mad Men to win the drama prize for its first two seasons.
