Another budget device with a large battery is entering India’s fiercely competitive smartphone market, and this time it’s the OnePlus N6. The company recently unveiled the device with a design language that closely resembles its flagship lineup, giving it a more premium appearance than its price suggests.
The launch comes at an interesting time for OnePlus. Earlier this year, rumours suggested the company could scale back its global operations or eventually become more closely integrated with its parent company, OPPO. Those rumours have since died down, but the N6 sends a different message: OnePlus still wants to compete aggressively in the affordable smartphone market.

Starting prices for the N6 are ₹22,999 for the 4GB/128GB model and ₹24,999 for the 6GB/128GB model; these will effectively be reduced to ₹19,999 with launch bank and Prime Day discounts when sales begin on July 4.
The challenge, however, isn’t just competing against Redmi, Vivo, Realme or Tecno anymore. OnePlus also has to convince buyers why they should pick the N6 instead of spending a little more on its own Nord CE 6.
That’s where things become interesting. Although both phones target value-conscious buyers, they’re built with very different priorities in mind. The N6 focuses on battery life and affordability, while the Nord CE 6 is designed for buyers willing to spend extra for a stronger all-round experience.
Performance: Good enough for everyday users, but the Nord CE 6 is in another league
