Disney has given fans their first look at what Elsa, Anna, and Olaf will look like when they return for Frozen 3. The first character designs were unveiled during the D23 Ultimate Disney Fan Event in Anaheim, California, on August 13, offering an early glimpse at the returning characters and their new costumes.
The film is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on November 24, 2027. While Disney has not revealed much about the story yet, the character reveal gives fans their first real sense of how the next chapter in the Frozen franchise is taking shape after years of waiting.
Elsa and Anna Are Getting a New Look
These first designs show Elsa and Anna in new outfits that give the characters a noticeably different appearance while keeping their familiar identities intact. Olaf also appears in the new material, keeping the central trio together as the franchise moves into its third film.
The costumes are more than a cosmetic update. Frozen has always used clothing, colour and setting to show how its characters are changing, so the new designs could offer clues about where the story is taking them, even though Disney is still keeping the plot largely secret.
Jennifer Lee, who directed the first two films, previously said the team was working on a story that had become so ambitious that it might not fit into one film.
The Original Voices Are Returning
Kristen Bell is returning as Anna, Idina Menzel as Elsa, Jonathan Groff as Kristoff, and Josh Gad as Olaf. Bell recently shared behind-the-scenes images from her work on the film, showing that recording for the sequel is already under way.
