The Fitbit Air was released in May and quickly emerged as Google's answer to the growing market for screenless fitness trackers led by products such as Whoop. Not long after its launch, rumours began circulating that the device would eventually come to India.

Now, Google has confirmed it.

The Fitbit Air will arrive in India in October 2026, following its launch in the US, UK, Europe and Australia. Google announced the Indian launch during its Pixel 11 event on Wednesday, although it has not yet revealed the exact release date or local price.

Google confirms Fitbit Air's India launch

The Fitbit Air is Google's first screenless fitness wearable. It's a small, pebble-shaped device that clips into a fabric band. There's no screen or traditional set of buttons. Instead, the tracker uses sensors, haptic feedback, and a small status light.

It tracks heart rate, resting heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), blood oxygen (SpO2), and irregular heart rhythms (AFib). It also automatically tracks sleep stages and duration. The data can be viewed through the Google Health app on a connected phone.

The screenless design is aimed at people who want health and fitness tracking without another display competing for their attention. That puts Fitbit Air in the same broad category as Whoop, although Google's tracker is built around the Fitbit and Google Health ecosystem.
