Red Dead Redemption 2 may be nearly eight years old, but its PC modding community is still finding ways to make the Wild West feel new. The latest example is Mafia 1899, a free fan-made expansion that turns parts of Saint Denis into a criminal playground filled with heists, assassinations, and other Mafia-inspired jobs.

Created by Nexus Mods user M8Tmods and released on August 19, 2026, the mod adds new activities separate from Rockstar Games' original story.

It's available for PC players through Nexus Mods and requires ScriptHookRDR2 V2 to run. The project is particularly interesting because Rockstar has not released a major single-player expansion for Red Dead Redemption 2, leaving modders to fill the gap with their own ideas.

The mod also works across both Arthur Morgan and John Marston's sections of the game.
