Indian Redmi fans can finally celebrate as the company announced on Tuesday that it is launching the Pro versions of the Note 17 series in India: the Redmi Note 17 Pro and Note 17 Pro Max. The phones launched in other markets weeks ago, and now they’re coming to India.
And both come with huge batteries: 10,000mAh for the Pro Max and 9,000mAh for the Pro. The Pro Max starts at ₹49,999 ($521), while the Pro starts at ₹36,999 ($385).
Xiaomi is betting that battery life is one of the features people care about most. And with a 10,000mAh cell, it’s making quite a strong case.

The specs: What you actually get
Both phones have a 6.83-inch 1.5K flat AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 3,500 nits peak brightness. The Pro Max supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, while both displays are protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

They also carry IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, offering protection against dust, water immersion, and high-pressure water jets.
The Pro Max runs on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.1 storage. The Pro gets the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage.
Both run HyperOS 3 based on Android 16, with four years of OS updates and six years of security patches. The Pro Max has a 50MP main camera with OIS and an 8MP ultrawide lens, alongside a 32MP front camera. The Pro has the same rear camera setup but a 16MP front camera.
The Pro Max packs a 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery with 100W wired charging, and the 100W charger is included in the box. It also supports 27W wired reverse charging. The Pro has a 9,000mAh battery with 67W charging and 22.5W reverse charging.
The pricing and availability
The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max starts at ₹49,999 ($521) for 8GB/256GB and goes up to ₹55,999 ($625) for 12GB/256GB. The Redmi Note 17 Pro starts at ₹36,999 ($385) for 8GB/128GB and ₹39,999 ($416) for 8GB/256GB.
