Samsung Galaxy Unpacked July 2026 event has wrapped in London, and the company used it to reveal its biggest foldable lineup shake-up in years. Samsung went all in on foldables and AI: a new Ultra-branded Fold, a redesigned standard Fold, a refreshed Flip, and its first pair of AI-powered smart glasses, built with Google.

/1. Samsung officially unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra
The biggest hardware announcement so far is the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Samsung’s first foldable to carry the Ultra branding. The Fold8 Ultra features an 8-inch foldable display, a 6.5-inch outer display, measures just 4.1mm thick when unfolded, and weighs 215 grams, making it Samsung’s thinnest Fold yet.
Despite becoming thinner, Samsung has increased the battery to 5,000mAh. The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy and packs a 200MP main camera, 50MP ultrawide, a 10MP telephoto, and dual 10MP selfie cameras.
Samsung also says the display crease is reduced thanks to new Flex Titanium hinge technology. The Fold 8 Ultra starts at $2,099.99.
/2. The Galaxy Z Fold8 gets a major redesign
Samsung didn’t just focus on the Ultra. The standard Galaxy Z Fold8 also arrives with a redesigned form factor that changes how users interact with the device.
