The wait for Grand Theft Auto VI has felt endless for many fans, but Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick is once again insisting that the game remains firmly on track for its November launch.

Speaking during a recent conversation with David Senra, Zelnick confidently reaffirmed that GTA 6 is still set to release on November 19, 2026, marking yet another public reassurance from the company amid ongoing fan speculation about possible delays.

For a normal game, a third confirmation of a release date might not mean much, but this is Grand Theft Auto VI, arguably the most anticipated entertainment release of the decade.

The game was originally expected in 2025 before being pushed to May 2026 and eventually delayed again to November 19, 2026. Despite those setbacks, Zelnick suggested the timeline shift has not been as dramatic as some fans believe.

“I think we’re about 18 months behind the original date. Not much more than that”, he said. This quote alone has sparked conversation online, especially among fans who have spent years dissecting every trailer, earnings call, and Rockstar teaser for clues about the game’s progress.

“The Most Valuable Entertainment IP Ever Created” Zelnick believes

During the interview, the discussion also turned toward the enormous cultural and commercial power of the Grand Theft Auto franchise itself.

When asked whether Grand Theft Auto is the most successful gaming IP ever, Zelnick explained that the answer depends on how success is measured, but he still made a bold claim about the franchise’s overall value.

“I think so, but it depends on how you count. I think if you counted every Mario Kart, Call of Duty, and a bunch of others, it’s not entirely clear.”

He then added, “But I think in terms of the value of the IP, most people believe it is the most valuable entertainment IP ever created.”

That statement highlights just how massive the franchise has become since Rockstar Games launched Grand Theft Auto V back in 2013. More than a decade later, GTA 5 remains one of the best-selling and most-played games in the world, largely thanks to the continued success of GTA Online.

Why GTA 5 Still Dominates

Zelnick also touched on why GTA 5 continues to thrive years after release, especially in an era where many games struggle to maintain player attention long term.

When discussing the game’s revenue and longevity, he simply said, “It’s a lot.”

He then explained that the game’s staying power comes from its constant updates and strong social features. “The reason people keep playing is because it’s constantly updated and it’s really great.”

He continued, “You can actually talk and connect and play together, and yeah, it’s amazing that people don’t realize that online games are highly social experiences.”

That ongoing engagement is exactly why expectations for GTA 6 are sky-high. Fans are not just expecting another open-world game, they are expecting the next evolution of one of gaming’s biggest online ecosystems.

For now, everything still points toward November 19, 2026. Whether Rockstar reveals a third trailer soon or continues its famously secretive marketing approach, anticipation around GTA 6 continues to dominate gaming conversations online.
