These exams evaluate individuals based on multiple criteria.   • Consume technical content only in English. This includes documentation, conference talks, and podcasts. The vocabulary of the field will come as a side effect.
  • Write every day, especially in public when possible. Use commit messages, write issue descriptions, and create short posts explaining a bug and its fix. Writing forces you to be precise in a way that reading does not.
  • Speak before it feels comfortable. This includes standups, community meetups, and code walkthroughs. You build fluency by retrieving words under mild pressure, and there is no substitute for this practice.
  • Get feedback that identifies patterns, not just corrections. Whether from a mentor, a study partner, or a scored practice platform, feedback that highlights recurring errors is more useful than one-time corrections.
  • Prepare for the specific test, not just English in general, when an exam is coming up. Being familiar with the format can make a real difference in your score.

The Skill That Builds

Technical skills become obsolete very quickly. Technologies lose popularity, programming languages appear and disappear, and the tool that is considered to be the most important on a resume today may be discarded in five years.
