Within Africa, governments are increasingly treating mobility as an economic advantage. What was once defined by strict visa rules, long embassy queues, and inconsistent entry requirements is slowly giving way to a more coordinated approach to regional movement.

Behind the shift is the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), which has reshaped how governments think about movement across borders.

For the professional relocating, the entrepreneur scouting a second base, or the tech worker who wants options, this policy change translates into something very concrete: a shorter list of hoops to jump through, and in some cases, none at all.
