We live in an incredibly advanced world where we now have self-driving cars, small devices in our pockets that store almost every piece of information known to mankind, and AI systems that can converse almost like humans. What if we took that one step further with machines that could handle our household chores?

Enter the Isaac 1 robot from Weave Robotics. It’s a household robot designed to take over everyday tasks such as folding laundry, picking up clothes, and tidying daily clutter. On Wednesday, the company announced the launch of Isaac 1, with deliveries set to begin this fall. Earlier this year, it introduced its predecessor, Isaac 0, which offered many of the same capabilities but lacked mobility.

How the Isaac 1 works

Unlike the stationary Isaac 0, the Isaac 1 comes with a wheeled base for mobility, a collapsible body that allows it to extend when working or tuck itself away when idle, and two robotic arms.

It uses AI and onboard sensors to move around the home autonomously. If it encounters a task that’s too difficult to complete on its own, human operators can reportedly step in through remote teleoperation using the companion app, although the company hasn’t explained exactly how that process works.
