Asia’s startup funding remained active this week, with $224.35 million raised across electric mobility, biotech, education, AI, consumer technology, and healthcare. India led the rounds, while South Korean startups also attracted fresh capital in biotech and property technology. 

The Week’s Biggest Startup Funding Rounds 

Here are the most notable startup funding announcements across Asia this week, ranked from highest to lowest. 

/1. Simple Energy, $182 Million, Electric Mobility, India 

Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer Simple Energy raised ₹1,750 crore (about $182 million) in a Series C funding round. 

The all-equity round is the company’s largest fundraise to date and takes its total capital raised to more than ₹2,530 crore ($263 million). The funding will support the company’s expansion and growth in India’s electric two-wheeler market. 

/2. Nexcera, $15 Million, Biotech, South Korea 

South Korean biotech company Nexcera raised $15 million in Series B funding to advance the US clinical development of its eye-drop treatment for wet macular degeneration. 

Woori Venture Partners participated as the anchor investor, alongside existing backers KB Investment and BMI Korea and new investors Yuanta Investment, Muir Woods Ventures and Mirae Asset Securities. 

/3. Jari Company, $10.7 Million, PropTech, South Korea 

South Korean proptech company Jari Company, which operates the rental management platform Zaritalk, raised KRW 14.5 billion (about $10.7 million) in a Series A funding round. 

The company is building technology around rental management, connecting landlords and tenants through its platform. 

/4. Arivihan, $10.2 Million, EdTech, India 

Indian AI-powered edtech startup Arivihan secured $10.2 million in Series A funding in a round co-led by existing investors Accel and Prosus Ventures. 

The company plans to use the new capital to expand into more parts of India, develop products for CBSE students, improve its AI and regional language capabilities, and strengthen its offline distribution network.
