CBS cleared its Tuesday night crime-drama line-up on 3 November to make room for live coverage of the 2026 US midterm elections.

This meant that NCIS, NCIS: New York and NCIS: Origins missed their regular broadcasts as CBS News took over the network's prime-time schedule to cover key congressional races.

The interruption is expected to last just one week, with all three dramas set to return with new episodes on 10 November. Their seasons will continue as planned once the election coverage is over.

Why Is CBS Pulling All Three NCIS Shows?

The schedule change is directly linked to the US midterm elections, which took place on Tuesday, 3 November.

Voters headed to polling stations to choose representatives in key congressional races, including contests that could influence control of the House of Representatives and Senate.

Rather than split its evening between entertainment and news, CBS has given its entire prime-time schedule to election coverage. According to Men's Journal, the network is broadcasting a five-hour special report from 7 pm to midnight Eastern Time.
