I Tested Claude Cowork. Here's Where It Fits Into My Workflow

My experience with Claude Cowork started before I had even used it.

Getting the subscription in Nigeria was, frankly, a hassle. For some reason, attempting the payment got all my bank accounts frozen for a couple of days. That threw a real spanner into what was supposed to be a straightforward test. Thankfully, it was sorted out quickly, but it did make me wonder whether the setup experience was worth the trouble.

After spending time with it, my answer is: sometimes, absolutely.

Claude Cowork is built around a more practical idea of AI. It's not only there to answer questions or write a paragraph when you are stuck. The AI model is meant to take a piece of work, understand the steps involved, use connected tools and files, and help carry the task forward.

Anthropic describes Cowork as a way for Claude to handle multi-step work such as research synthesis, document creation, and data extraction. That difference sounds small on paper, but it's noticeable when you use it.

Where Claude Cowork came in clutch

The best use I have found for Claude is turning raw work into something presentable.

If I have a document, a collection of reports, or a messy set of notes and I need to turn it into a presentation, Claude is genuinely helpful. I can upload the material, explain what I need, and ask it to analyse the information and structure it into slides. It takes away the most tiring part of that job: staring at a blank deck, deciding what matters, grouping the information, and trying to make it flow.
