The European venture funding continued on a downward trend in the third quarter of 2022, hitting its lowest point in nearly two years, driven majorly by a drop in early-stage investment.

According to Crunchbase analysis, investor funding for the third quarter in Europe totaled only $16 billion, down 44% year over year from $28 billion in 2021, and down 35% quarter over quarter from $24 billion in Q3 2022.

The downward trend of venture funding in Europe in the past quarter is not dissimilar to what we have seen in the investment landscape globally, indicating the declining appetite of investors for new investment opportunities in the current economic climate.
