As part of its initial funding round, Indonesia-based electric vehicle (EV) making company, Charged Indonesia, has raised $4.5 million from DeClout Ventures.

  • The EV company is looking to launch a 16,000 sqm zero-energy industrial complex in Greater Jakarta. The complex will be its facility for research and development, an experiential centre, and a production house, the company claims.
  • Founded in 2022, Charged Indonesia produces and distributes electric motorcycles. It offers mobility options that cover personal needs, logistics, company fleets, and ride-hailing services. It aims to reduce air pollution and improve mobility experiences for Indonesians through the adoption of EVs.
  • Its commercial director, Stephanus Widi says the company is aiming at producing and distributing affordable, practical, and attractive EV motorcycles for users in Indonesia.
  • DeClout Ventures seeks to build a partnership with Charged with its investment in the EV startup. The partnership will involve alignment with Charged Indonesia and DeClout's portfolio which include IoT, smart-city infrastructure, and cleantech startups.
