Xbox owners might want to start clearing some space now, because 2027 is shaping up to be a pretty brutal year for storage.
We've already got massive games like GTA 6 and Fable coming, and now Final Fantasy VII Revelation has entered the conversation with a potential file size that could make your Xbox's storage look surprisingly small.
In a recent interview with VGC, Final Fantasy VII Revelation director Naoki Hamaguchi said the final chapter of Square Enix's Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy could be around 200GB when it launches in April 2027.
Yes, 200GB.
And while that number isn't necessarily final, it's enough to make Final Fantasy VII Revelation one of the biggest Xbox games in terms of download size if it ships anywhere close to that figure.

How big will Final Fantasy VII Revelation be on Xbox?
“Things are still getting worked out, but it’s probably going to be around 200GB of game,” Hamaguchi said.
That's a pretty remarkable number, especially when you consider that this isn't some enormous collection containing several games. It's one game.
Hamaguchi's comments also explain why Square Enix is facing some interesting decisions around the physical release. A game of this size isn't something that can simply be squeezed onto a standard disc and shipped as if storage limitations don't exist.
He acknowledged that challenge while stressing that the team still wants players to have a physical product.
“One thing I want to say is, even though the game will not be on the full disc, in the position we’re in, because discs may be dying out, or maybe staying, with Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, we definitely wanted to deliver some kind of physical product. That was really important to us. Trust me!” he added.
