The fintech landscape in Africa has been on a remarkable growth trajectory, with startups in this sector flourishing. However, there's a notable shift in the funding dynamics for 2023, signalling potential challenges ahead.
According to "Finnovating for Africa" a biennial publication released by Disrupt Africa, in partnership with AZA Finance and Curacel, tracking the evolution of the fintech ecosystem across the African continent, 2023 is poised to experience a decline as the sector feels a pinch of the global capital shortage.
A previous report covered by Techloy shows a 21% slump in African fintech funding in the first half of the year. It suggests that we should anticipate reduced figures by the end of 2023.
