Fortnite servers are now fully operational again after a major outage left thousands of players unable to log in or join matches worldwide.
The disruption, which affected Fortnite alongside several other Epic Games services, triggered widespread frustration across the gaming community as players reported login failures, matchmaking errors, and server connection issues during peak gaming hours.
However, at the time of writing, Epic Games has confirmed that the issue has been resolved and services have returned to normal.
Epic Games Confirms Fortnite Servers Have Recovered
Epic Games acknowledged the outage shortly after reports began flooding social media and outage tracking platforms.
The company initially warned that players “may not be able to log into or matchmake in Fortnite,” before later confirming it was actively working with partners to resolve the issue.
Following several hours of disruption, Epic Games issued a final update confirming recovery across affected services.
The company stated on its website, “Log-in and Matchmaking has recovered, and we're no longer seeing any server delays. We'll continue to monitor these services and address any issues that arise.”
Thousands Reported Fortnite Connection Problems
At the peak of the outage, monitoring platform DownDetector recorded nearly 15,000 player reports tied to Fortnite server issues.
Most users experienced login failures, matchmaking problems, lobby connection errors, unexpected disconnections, and delays accessing Epic Games services.
The outage appeared to impact multiple regions globally, leading many players to initially believe the problem was linked to their internet connection or platform services.
Other Epic Games Services Were Also Affected
The disruption wasn’t limited to Fortnite alone. Epic Games also confirmed issues impacting other major titles and services, including Fall Guys, Rocket League, Rocket League Sideswipe, LEGO Fortnite, and Fortnite Festival.
Epic Games Store purchases also reportedly experienced delays during the outage window.
Fortnite Servers Now Fully Operational
According to Fortnite's current server status page, all major services are now operational again, including Fortnite matchmaking, login systems, Epic Online Services, and Unreal Engine-related services.
The company is continuing to monitor systems to ensure stability following the outage.
Epic Games has also reminded players about upcoming scheduled maintenance for Epic Online Services later this month, which is expected to temporarily affect the Sessions and Lobbies systems on May 26, 2026.
For now, Fortnite players can return to matches normally as servers appear stable again following the widespread disruption.
