The massive 155GB leak tied to Forza Horizon 6, the next installment in one of gaming’s most successful open-world racing franchises, has sparked fresh conversations across the gaming community.

Developed by Playground Games, the title is still officially scheduled for release on May 19, 2026, but early information circulating online has already reshaped expectations around what the game might deliver.

A Massive Leak Sparks Early Hype Ahead of Its 2026 Release

According to reports shared across gaming forums and social platforms, the leaked files are unusually large and may contain near-complete development builds of the game. Some users claim the data includes executable elements that briefly allowed limited interaction with the game world, although these claims remain unverified and should be treated cautiously.

“The clarity of the reports is sparse beyond social chatter, but it appears that Forza Horizon 6 was uploaded to Steam ten days before launch and not encrypted by Playground Games”, per Insider Gaming.

If accurate, the scale of the leak suggests a fully realized open-world environment built on the franchise’s signature structure but significantly expanded. The reported 155GB file size alone points to a major leap in technical ambition, aligning with modern AAA racing titles that rely heavily on ultra-high-resolution assets, dense environments, and expansive vehicle libraries. Industry estimates for similar games typically sit between 80GB and 140GB at launch, which would place Forza Horizon 6 on the heavier end of the spectrum if confirmed.

Short gameplay clips and screenshots allegedly pulled from the leaked build have also begun circulating online. These clips appear to show familiar Horizon-style driving mechanics, open-world traversal, and environmental detail consistent with previous entries in the series. However, without official confirmation, it remains unclear whether the footage represents early development builds, debug tools, or incomplete test environments that do not reflect the final game.

The leak has also reignited broader concerns within the industry about pre-release security. Over the past few years, major titles—including high-profile projects like Death Stranding 2—have suffered similar exposure incidents, often linked to internal build distribution errors or weak encryption during development pipelines.

Despite the growing speculation, neither Playground Games nor its parent company has issued an official statement addressing the situation or confirming the authenticity of the leaked material. As a result, most of what is currently circulating remains unverified community reporting rather than confirmed information.

Also, as at the time of writing, no accurate number of downloads have been verified.

Still, anticipation around Forza Horizon 6 continues to build ahead of its planned May 2026 release. If the leak proves even partially accurate, it suggests a game that pushes the franchise further in scale, detail, and ambition than ever before. For now, however, players will have to wait for official reveals to separate confirmed features from early speculation.
