Current PlayStation Store listings suggest GTA 6 could unlock at midnight in each region on November 19, rather than becoming playable worldwide at the same moment.

That would give players in New Zealand one of the earliest opportunities to play, with other regions following as November 19 arrives locally.

For Xbox players, the timing could also revive a familiar option: changing the console's region to New Zealand to access a game earlier than its local release. But whether that will actually work for GTA 6 is still unclear.

New Zealand Could Get GTA 6 First

The PlayStation Store currently lists GTA 6 with regional release times that point to a staggered rollout. New Zealand appears to be the first region, followed by Australia, Japan, and other markets as midnight arrives across different time zones.

The rollout could span roughly 19 hours from the earliest to the latest regions.

That means the November 19 launch will not necessarily mean everyone starts playing at the same moment. Some players could already be exploring Vice City while others are still waiting for their local release time.
