This guide will walk you through the simple process of setting up your Alexa Emergency Contact, ensuring that you have peace of mind knowing help is just a voice command away.

So, whether you're looking to empower yourself or ensure your loved ones have quick access to assistance, keep reading and discover how Alexa can become your silent guardian in unexpected situations.

How To Add an Alexa Emergency Contact

💡
Alexa's Emergency Contacts are not a replacement for calling emergency services. You should use them only for non-life-threatening situations. Also, only one emergency contact can be designated per household, not per individual. The contact information you provide in your phone's address book is what Alexa uses. If it changes, update it in the Alexa app as well.
  • Open the Alexa app on your smartphone or tablet.
  • Tap More in the bottom right corner.
  • Select Communicate.
  • Tap the contacts icon (two overlapping circles).
  • Tap the menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top right corner.
  • Choose Emergency Contact.
  • Select the contact you want to designate as your emergency contact.
  • Click on next, confirm your selection and choose Done.

Your chosen contact will receive a text message informing them they've been added as your emergency contact. When you need help, just say "Alexa, call for help" or "Alexa, call my emergency contact", and Alexa will attempt to call and message your emergency contact.

Conclusion

Adding an Alexa Emergency Contact can provide valuable peace of mind, knowing you have quick access to help in non-life-threatening situations. Remember, it's not a replacement for dialing emergency services, and choosing a reliable and responsive contact is crucial.

By following the simple steps outlined above, you can set up your emergency contact in minutes and be prepared for unexpected circumstances.
