I believe we've all had that one experience where we scrolled endlessly through WhatsApp to find that group chat or important conversation. I used to waste so much time digging through my messages until I figured out how to organise my chats better.
I'm talking about the "Lists" feature. This feature was introduced in October 2024, allowing users to create custom categories for their conversations. It builds upon the earlier addition of chat filters that help you streamline your conversations.
That being said, here is a step-by-step guide to creating a chat list on WhatsApp.

Steps to Create a WhatsApp Chat List (On Android)
Step 1: On the Chats tab on WhatsApp, click the "+" button in the filter bar at the top
Step 2: Select the "List name" input space to give the list a name, then click "Add people or groups"
Step 3: Select at least one contact or group, then click the green checkmark button on the bottom right. Hence, you can access your newly created list via the filter bar at the top of the Chats tab
Steps to Create a WhatsApp Chat List (On iPhone)
Step 1: Select the "+" button in the filter bar at the top of the Chats tab
Step 2: Click the "List name" input space and provide a name for the list, then select "Add people or groups"
Step 3: Select at least one contact or group, then tap the "Add" button at the top right
Step 4: Now, click "Done" in the top right corner. You can then access your list from the filter bar at the top of the Chats tab
