How to delete your location history on Google Maps
With this, your phone will no longer feel like a tracking device.
Google knows a lot about where you’ve been. Every time you check Google Maps, use navigation, or even have your phone in your pocket, Google logs your location in your "Timeline" as long as location is enabled in the settings. While this can be handy for remembering places you visited, it’s also a privacy concern.
Maybe you don’t want Google (or anyone who accesses your account) to have a record of your daily routines, travels, or frequent spots. Fortunately, you can always clear your location data by deleting your Google Location History.
In this guide, we will show you how to delete your Google location history.

How to delete Google location history
Step 1: Open the Google Maps app on your device and tap your profile on the top right.

Step 2: Select "Your Timeline"

Step 3: Tap the three-dot (more) icon at the top right and select Location and privacy settings.

Step 4: Under Location settings:
- Select "Delete all Timeline data" to delete all your location data.

- Select "Delete Range of timeline data" to specify the time from which to delete your location history saved.

- Select "Auto Delete timeline" to continuously delete the location data logged.

Conclusion
And just like that, your location history is gone. No more snippets of your daily commute, weekend getaways, or your every move. While Google will still collect new data if you leave Location History on, you can always just wipe it clean.
With this, your phone will no longer feel like a tracking device. Now that you’ve cleared your history, you can move around a little more freely, at least as far as Google’s concerned.
