Shah Rukh Khan marked his 61st birthday on 2 November 2026 with a first look at his upcoming action film, King, releasing Tu Mil Jaaye, the film’s first song.
The track features Khan alongside Deepika Padukone, with vocals by Arijit Singh and Madhubanti Bagchi, as well as an English rap section by British singer Ed Sheeran.
Directed by Siddharth Anand, King is scheduled to arrive in cinemas worldwide on 24 December 2026, placing its release in the Christmas holiday period. Tickets are not yet available, and the filmmakers have not announced pricing details.

King’s First Song, Tu Mil Jaaye, Is Out
The song was released at midnight on 2 November, giving fans a birthday surprise as Khan turned 61. Titled Tu Mil Jaaye, it brings together several familiar names from the Indian and international music scenes.
Composed by Sachin-Jigar, the track features Arijit Singh and Madhubanti Bagchi, with lyrics by Kumaar. Ed Sheeran adds an English rap section, making the collaboration one of the song’s biggest talking points. According to NDTV, the music video features Khan and Padukone in romantic settings, dance sequences and action scenes.
Khan also introduces his character with the line: “Main qaatil nahi, aashiq hoon”, which translates to “I am not a murderer, I am a lover”. The dialogue hints at a character who balances romance with a more dangerous side.
Sharing the song on X, the actor described the film’s mood as “Of Love and other Battles”, giving fans another clue about the story’s central themes.
King Cast: Who Stars Alongside Shah Rukh Khan?
The film features a large ensemble cast, with Khan joined by Padukone, his daughter Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Jaideep Ahlawat, Arshad Warsi, Raghav Juyal and Abhay Verma.
Suhana’s involvement is particularly notable because King will mark her theatrical debut. She previously made her acting debut in the Netflix film The Archies in 2023. This project will see her share the big screen with her father for the first time. Kareena Kapoor is also reportedly part of the film, with NDTV noting her involvement in a special dance number.
