The Latin American startup funding landscape experienced a distressing quarter in Q1 2023, as funding slumped to the lowest in over two years amid a continued sharp contraction in investment deals, per data gathered by Crunchbase.

The figures across all the funding stages do not look great against these earlier competitions. The late and early-stage investments were down dramatically both experiencing an 87% decline YoY respectively, while seed investment was down 73% YoY in the quarter, per the Crunchbase data.
