I've been playing the viral Lagos Life game for a few weeks, and yesterday I found myself at a private listening party for Fireboy's upcoming album. Yes, inside a video game.
I thought that was absolutely insane.
What's almost as wild is how quickly the game has taken off, with more than 10 million players in just a few days and a $500,000 raise behind it. But I keep coming back to one question: how much money can a game like this actually make, and can it keep making it?
Also in this week's issue:
- What two Nigerian developers earn, and what it cost them to get there.
- WhatsApp calls without the account requirement.
- And startup funding opportunities you should apply for.
See you next week!
