OnePlus's biggest software change in years has started reaching phones in India.
ColorOS 17, based on Android 17, is replacing OxygenOS as OnePlus’s software experience. The OnePlus 15 received the update on Sunday, October 25, four days ahead of the planned release date.
If you use another OnePlus phone, you may receive the update this week or have to wait until 2027, depending on your model. Here’s the rollout schedule, how to install the update and what’s new.

How to Download the ColorOS 17 Update on OnePlus
The update goes out in waves, by model, region and carrier, so it may not show up on your phone straight away. To check for it:
- Back up your photos, chats and files.
- Connect to Wi-Fi and charge the phone to at least 50%.
- Open Settings, then tap About device.
- Tap the software version box, then Check for updates.
- If ColorOS 17 appears, tap Download and install, and leave the phone alone until it restarts.
If you don't see it, check again in a day or two. Don't download the update from unofficial sites, as a bad file can leave your phone unusable.
ColorOS 17 Features and AI Tools: What Changes From OxygenOS
ColorOS isn't new. Oppo phones already use it, and OnePlus has been part of Oppo since 2021. With this update, OnePlus phones in India get it too.
The first noticeable change is the new Living Flow design. Oppo has introduced translucent menus and a clock that transitions between the always-on display, lock screen and home screen.
