Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026: 17 Reveals, Game Pass & Kojima

I went into the Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026 showcase expecting a few familiar names, but the presentation ended up being much broader than I expected. There were new gameplay reveals, release dates, Xbox Game Pass announcements, updates on some upcoming Japanese titles, and, right at the end, a surprise appearance from Hideo Kojima.

What I liked most about the showcase was the variety. Xbox wasn't relying on one or two huge announcements to carry the presentation. There was something for fans of action RPGs, JRPGs, survival games, horror, strategy, and even narrative adventures.

Here are all the major announcements from the Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026 showcase, along with the games that caught my attention.

GACHIAKUTA: BREAKOUT Gets Its First Gameplay Reveal

The showcase opened with GACHIAKUTA: BREAKOUT, a survival action RPG based on the popular anime.

The gameplay focuses heavily on melee combat, with a colourful cartoon-inspired visual style that immediately gives it a distinct look. I wasn't expecting this to open the show, but it was a useful reminder that Xbox's TGS presentation wasn't going to be limited to established franchises.

GACHIAKUTA: BREAKOUT is coming in 2027.

Crazy Taxi: World Tour Takes the Series to Japan

Crazy Taxi: World Tour also made an appearance with a new trailer focused on Japan.

The idea of taking Crazy Taxi through Japanese streets feels like a natural fit for the series, especially considering how much of its identity comes from chaotic driving through busy environments. The trailer didn't reveal everything, but seeing the game lean into Japan's mix of traditional and modern city environments was enough to make me curious about how large the new world will actually be.

It's scheduled for 2027.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Shows Off Its Campaign

Microsoft also brought a new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 campaign trailer to the showcase.

Task Force 141 is back, with the story moving from Korea to locations around the world as the team faces what is described as a war without borders.

The important date here is October 23, 2026, when Modern Warfare 4 launches.

Persona 4 Revival Shows Off Naoto Shirogane

As someone who has been following Persona 4 Revival, this was one of the updates I was particularly interested in.

The new trailer puts Naoto Shirogane in the spotlight, with Amber Lee Connors providing her voice. The Detective Prince is shown investigating the murder mystery at the centre of the game.

The showcase also confirmed that Persona 4 Revival will be available through Xbox Game Pass.

Shape of Dreams Is Out Now on Xbox Game Pass

Shape of Dreams was one of the quicker announcements, but its gameplay immediately stood out.

It's a top-down roguelite built around fast combat, huge numbers of projectiles and build experimentation. You can play alone or bring along up to three other players for co-op.
