The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is officially three years old, and Nintendo is marking the anniversary with a surprise new collectible that many already say might be the game’s best amiibo yet.

Unveiled as part of the game’s third anniversary celebrations, the new Mineru’s Construct amiibo is set to launch on September 17, 2026, adding a late-but-highly-detailed tribute to one of the game’s most memorable late-game creations.

The figure is based on Mineru’s Construct, the ancient Zonai-built robot tied to the Sage of Spirit, Mineru, which Link later reconstructs and pilots during the final stretch of the game’s story. It’s a larger-scale amiibo than most previous releases, and Nintendo is leaning heavily into its display value.

One of the standout features is articulation. The Construct’s arms are fully posable, allowing for a surprising range of display options. Nintendo itself has encouraged players to experiment with different poses, suggesting it was designed as much for collectors as for in-game functionality.

Beyond its physical design, the amiibo also integrates with Tears of the Kingdom gameplay in the usual way.

According to the game announcement, “Scanning it with the Switch NFC reader rewards players with in-game items, but the highlight bonus is a chance to unlock a special paraglider fabric inspired by Mineru’s Construct. The design reportedly includes glow-in-the-dark elements, adding a visual twist for Link’s skydiving traversal”.

The timing of the release has raised some eyebrows, with the amiibo arriving nearly three years after the game’s original launch and well after the expanded Switch 2-era editions. Still, Nintendo appears to be extending the game’s collectible ecosystem rather than tying it to a new content drop.

It’s also worth noting that Mineru’s Construct is revealed relatively late in the game’s story, meaning the amiibo itself edges close to spoiler territory, something Nintendo has historically been cautious about, but seems less concerned with here.

For collectors and longtime fans, however, this latest release is shaping up to be one of the most detailed and desirable Tears of the Kingdom figures yet.
