The Pokémon Company has unveiled Mega Evolution—Pitch Black, the next major expansion for the Pokémon Trading Card Game, set for worldwide release on July 17, 2026.
This summer expansion introduces a darker, Mega Evolution-focused lineup headlined by Mega Darkrai ex, alongside several other powerful new cards inspired by recent Mega Evolution content.
Mega Evolution—Pitch Black Brings Major New ex Cards
The upcoming expansion will feature four major Mega Evolution ex cards: Mega Darkrai ex leads the set as its primary star, bringing Dark-type power and ominous presence to the forefront. Joining it are Mega Zeraora ex, Mega Chandelure ex, and Mega Excadrill ex, each expected to introduce new battle strategies and competitive deck-building opportunities.
According to The Pokémon Company, “Trainers can discover new cards, including Mega Darkrai ex, which emerges from the shadows with commanding presence, and Mega Zeraora ex, which strikes back with electrifying power.”
