On Tuesday, users across the U.S. began reporting issues with the Apple Weather app, with many saying it either failed to load or showed nearly empty screens. For an app that runs in the background of daily routines, the disruption stood out.

Reports first surfaced on platforms like X and Reddit, where users shared similar experiences. Some noted they couldn’t remember the last time the app had gone down, which added to the confusion.

The issue wasn’t isolated. Several users, including media staff, confirmed the app was either inaccessible or unusually slow. In some cases, it took up to 10 seconds just to load basic weather data.

At the same time, Apple Support System Status showed an active outage, confirming that the problem was on Apple’s side.

Third-party signals pointed in the same direction. Downdetector showed spikes in reports tied to both The Weather Channel and Apple services. That overlap is notable. Apple Weather pulls data from multiple sources, including The Weather Channel, which means issues upstream can affect how the app performs.

Apple later confirmed the outage and said it lasted from 10:45 AM to 2:30 PM GMT-2, noting: “Some users were affected. This service may have been slow or unavailable.”

The timeline helps explain the pattern users saw—intermittent loading, delays, and in some cases, complete downtime.
