After experiencing two consecutive quarters of decline, the wearable device market rebounded in the second quarter of 2023, registering an impressive 8.5% year-over-year growth, according to a report by the IDC.
This resurgence in the market saw a total of 116.3 million wearable devices shipped during the quarter. However, this growth came at the expense of a decline in overall market value, primarily due to increased competition and retailers offering discounts to reduce excess inventory.
