Mohalla Tech, which owns India’s ShareChat, raises $300 million, at a $5 billion valuation

The umbrella firm of India-based ShareChat, Mohalla Tech has raised $300 million in its latest funding round bringing it to a valuation of $5 billion.

• Mohalla Tech is a software solution-providing firm focusing on designing and developing platforms for sharing quotes, videos, images, and news in India.
• The firm currently has over 180 million active users with a 300 million cumulated user base from Moj and MX TakaTak, its recent acquisition.
• It last raised $266 million from Alkeon Capital and Temasek in 2021.
• The new funding was received from Alphabet Inc's Google, Times Group, and Temasek Holdings, its existing investor.
