Global smartphone sales to end-users, which declined by 2% in 2019 for the first time since 2008, came back on track to reach 1.57 billion units by year-end 2020, an increase of 3% year-over-year, according to a recent report from Gartner.

In Sub-Saharan Africa, the total units of smartphones sold to end users reached 90.1 million in 2019 and are expected to hit 92 million by year-end 2020 and projected to reach 93.2 million by 2021.
