Microsoft has announced that more than one million people signed up on the waitlist to try out the new Bing Search with an integrated ChatGPT functionality in just 48 hours.
The announcement follows Microsoft's unveiling of the latest version of Bing, powered by OpenAI's large language model, ChatGPT, under the hood.
The revamped search engine uses the artificial intelligence model to understand queries written with natural language and generate better and summarized human-like responses.
The integration of OpenAI's ChatGPT which had itself attracted one million users in one week, has generated much interest in the search engine and is now converting into signups.
The release is however still in limited preview and is not yet available to all users.
In a related development, Google and Chinese company Baidu among several others have announced the integration of an AI model in their search engine, joining in on the AI race.
