Google is looking to hire people in key African markets, particularly in South Africa, Nigeria, and Kenya, in roles including cloud computing, recruiting, marketing, and legal, despite a huge decline in hiring activity across the world.
Most of the tech roles are based in Johannesburg, South Africa, including a business development manager for Android platform partnerships, a customer engineer for Google Cloud, a Product Marketing Manager for consumer applications, and an artist relationship manager for YouTube Music.
The technology giant is said to be advertising 50% more jobs in South Africa today than in March 2022, according to MyBroadband. The company currently has more than 155,000 employees worldwide.
