The post-pandemic funding boom is gradually winding down with reverberating layoffs in tech startups across the world.

According to Techloy startup layoff tally since the beginning of 2022, around 10,000 employees in the technology sector across Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East have been laid off in mass job cuts so far, as of June 2022.

The region with the biggest job cuts in the tech sector witnessed this year has been Asia (over 6,000 employees), where ed-tech startup Unacademy which has around 5,000 employees and has raised over $800 million has let go of over 1,000 employees to date.
