How to activate conversation awareness while using AirPods
Apple introduced the Conversation Awareness feature to the second-generation AirPods Pro. Instead of manually activating transparency mode like its predecessor, the AirPod will automatically detect whenever you’re engaged in a conversation and automatically dial down the volume of your music, enhancing voices in front of you while reducing additional background noise.
The best part of this is it functions intelligently, as the music volume is lowered, but podcasts will be paused after a few seconds so you don’t miss any key moments. When it detects your conversation is over, it takes the volume back to its initial state and resumes your podcast or other paused audio. Cool, right?
In this guide, we'll walk you through how to enable and enjoy this feature. Sit tight.
Note: This feature is only available on AirPods Pro (2nd Generation) and iOS 17.
